A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING AN~APPLICATION FOR FUNDS
AVAILABLE UNDER TITLE IIIB OF THE OLDER AMERICANS
ACT

WHEREAS, the provisions of.P.L. 95-~7$ added to the
Older Americans Act of 1965., as amended, make possible Information
and Referral programs for persons 60 years of age and older; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles.County Area Agency on Aging
is responsible for administering such programs in Los Angeles
County; 'and
WHEREAS, proposals. to provide such services in the City
of Lynwood are being solicited by the: Area Agency on Aging; and
WHEREAS, the.City of Lynwood is eligible to receive
such funds; and.
WHEREAS, THE City Recreation Department is fully capable
of providing Information and Referral services to the senior
citizen residents of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT. RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Lynwood authorize an application to the Area Agency
on A_g=ink==, for funds available under Title IIIB of the Older Amer-
icans.Act in order to estab lisp>a.Senior Citizens Information and
Referral Project 'in the City Recreation Department.
