A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
" CITY OF LYNWOOD'FINDING THAT THE COMPETITIVE
BID REQUIREMENTS OF THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE
SHOULD NOT BE APPLICABLE TO THE PURCHASE OF
A.HEAVY RESCUE TRUCK
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has applied for and
received a Housing and Community Development Act Paramedics
Equipment Program grant which-will require the purchase of a'
heavy rescue truck to augment the equipment previously avail-
able to the City's Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, because of the extremely specialized nature
of such heavy rescue truck, the difficulties in preparing~speci-
fication for competitive bidding, and the necessity to obtain
such heavy rescue truck as quickly as possible, it will be in
the`best interests of the City to waive the competitive bid
requirement of the Lynwood City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood

hereby does find, determine, resolve, and order as follows:
Section 1. The purchase of a heavy rescue truck as
required for the City's Paramedics Equipment Program grant can '
be more 'econorriically .and efficiently. e'f.f.ected through the use of
negotiation with and purchase from the manufacturer rather than
through competitive bidding.
Section 2. The City Manager hereby is authorized and
directed to so effect the purchase of said equipment.
