A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNjYOOD AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF LOS APdGELES
TO ISSUE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF LY"NjYOOD
MOVING PERMITS FOR OVERHEIGHT, OVER~YIDTH.AND
OVERjYEIGHT LOADS ON CITY STREETS
LYHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles presently issues
moving permits for overweight, overwidth, and overweight loads
for the unincorporated County area and for 37 of the 81 .cities
-in the County; and
~YHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles maintains five
permit offices located throughout the County and such moving permits
can be easily obtained at any of these offices; and -
~YHEREAS, it is in the public interest that a single
agency in the County issue these permits for all the cities in the
County; and
jYH~REAS, the standardization of requirements and
uniformity of procedures that derive from a single governmental
agency issuing these permits would improve the overall efficiency
of this operation and remove from the individual cities the burden
of permit issuance; and`
-SYHEREAS, .the City of Lynwood proposes to have the
County of Los' Angeles issue such permits for and on behalf of the
City, for use within the City, on certain designated City streets;
and

L reference to such designated City Streets, and will retain its
power and authority to enforce its municipal rules, regulation
and ordinances thereon.
-PdO~Y, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lyn-
wood resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. That .the County of Los .Angeles be and
is hereby authorized to issue for~and on behalf of the City Moving
Permits for overweight, overwidth and overweight loads on certain
City streets to be designated by the City.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager or his designate
is hereby directed to add or change the permit conditions to include
City restrictions or special conditions as found to be desireable.
SECTION 3. That any fee charged by the County of
Los Angeles for the issuance of such permits shall be retained by
the County as a cost of performing such service for and on behalf
of the City. -
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk-is hereby directed
to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Road Commi-
ssioner, Los Angeles County Road Department, 1540 Alcazar Street,
Los Angeles,-California 90033.
