SUPPORTING SENATE BILL S-27I1
\VlIEREAS, Senate Bill 8-2711, released by the Senate Community and Urban Affairs
Committee, would streamline the property lax reassessment process to pennit the
assessor to more easily and eft1ciently perform reassessments in a part of a taxing district;
and
\VHEREAS, as such, 8-2711, would eliminate parts of the notice and approval
requirements that a tax assessor must satisfy before the assessor may perform
reassessments for a portion or portions of a taxing district; and
\YHEREAS, 8-2711, also increases the monetary threshold for the appeal of a property
assessment directly to the Tax Court; and
\VHEREAS, the New Jersey League of Municipalities strongly supports 8-2711 as
released and has requested that all of its members go on record similarly supporting tbe
same.
NO\V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
ofCarteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. l1ull the Borough of Carteret hereby supports Senate Bill S-2711 released
by the Senate Community and Urban Affairs Committee.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the New Jersey League of
Municipalities.
