RESOLUTION NO. 13-8588
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXPLORE AND EXAMINE WAYS TO ENHANCE OPA-
LOCKA AS A SOCIAL AND CULTURAL HUB BY
PROVIDING ADDITIONAL ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS
FOR THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Opa-locka is a historic, vibrant community with a rich and colorful cultural
background, boasting the Western Hemisphere's largest collection of Moorish Revival
Architecture; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires the City Manager to explore the feasibility of
additional entertainment options that would serve as a positive catalyst for the City and enhance
its economic growth and development; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka authorizes the City
Manager to explore additional entertainment options that can benefit the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka authorizes the City
Manager to explore and examine ways to enhance Opa-locka as a social and cultural hub by
providing additional entertainment options for the residents.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
