RESOLUTION N0. 78-1
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION OF THE CITY~IN THE JUVENILE
ASSISTANCE DIVERSION EFFORT (JADE) AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS FOR 1978-1979 FOR SAID PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood with the Cities of BELL,
CUDAHY, HUNTINGTON PARK, MAYWOOD AND SOUTH GATE desires to
undertake a certain project, designated The Juvenile Assistance
Diversion Effort (JADE), to be funded in part from funds made
available pursuant to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention Act of 1974 (PL 93-415) hereafter referred to as the-.
JJ-DP Act administered by-thee Office of Criminal Justice_
Planning (hereafter referred to as OCJP).
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Chief of Police of the City of South
Gate is authorized, on behalf of the City of Lynwood to submit
an Application for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP
and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of South Gate
the Grant Award for law enforcement purposes including any
extensions or amendments thereof.
SECTION 2. The City of Lynwood agrees to provide all
matching funds required of it for said project .(including any
extensions or amendments thereof) under the JJ-DP Act and the
rules and regulations of OCJP and the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration (LEAA) and that cash will be appropriated as
required, thereby; that the City Council hereby appropriates
the sum of $1,180.00 for said program for fiscal year 1978-1979•
___ SECTION 3. That grant funds received shall not be used
to supplant on-going law enforcement expenditures. ~-
SECTION.~4. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of January
1978.
