RESOLUTION NO. 13-8597
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA,
RECOGNIZING THE MONTH OF MAY 2013 AS
HAITIAN AMERICAN CULTURE MONTH WITHIN
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka has one of the highest percentage of Haitian
residents in the US; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to recognize
the month of May, as Haitian American Culture month within the City of Opa-locka,
Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby
recognizes the month of May, as Haitian American Culture month within the City of
Opa-locka.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of May, 2013.
