,A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF•LYNWOOD APPROVING AN ADVANCE OF
FUNDS-TO THE LYNWOOD SERVICES•CORPORATION.
WHEREAS., .the Lynwood Services Corporation has
recently organized as a non-profit corporation for the
specific purpose of assisting the City of Lynwood in various
community services programs; and
• WHEREAS, the. Lynwood Services Corporation has~ex-
pressed its intention to enter into an agreement with the
City of Lynwood accepting an assignment of .the City's obliga-
Lions and responsibilities under and in connection with the
CETA II, CETA VI and CETA VI Extension Program, employing
individuals presently employed an d. pursuant to said programs
and providing the City with the services of such individuals
and others at no cost to the City; and
WHEREAS, in order for the Lynwood Services Corpora-
. tion to accept such an .assignment. and enter into such an
,agreement, the corporation requires funds for the payment of
certain administrative expenses for a limited period of .time
until it receives reimbursement therefor from the County .of
Los Angeles, .
.NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City. of
• Lynwood hereby does resolve as follows:
1. In ,order to~enable the Lynwood Services Corpora-
Lion to~accept an assignment of the City's responsibilities and
. ooligat.ions under the- CET-A._II-,..CETA_ VI and CETA VI Extension. ,. .~»
Programs,.and to enter into an agreement with the City as des-
cribed, the City of Lynwood hereby agrees to advance to the
Lynwood Services ,Corporation the sum o.f twenty-five thousand
dollars ($25,000); for a period not to exceed ninety days from
the date of such advance; provided, however;_that before such
,funds are delivered to the Lynwood Services Corporation, the
Corporation shall have first provided the City with a letter
signed by appropriate officials of said Corporation indicating
tie Corporation's willingness to enter into an agreement with
the City of Lynwood~as described above and promising.to repay
to the City any an d, all sums advanced by the City as soon as
reasonably possible following the Corporation's receipt of
reimbursement funds from the County of Los. Angeles.
2. .Funds advanced by the City to the Corporation
shall be used only for a payment of the Corporation's adminis-
trative expenses which are reimbursable by the County of ,Los
Angeles.; and the ;Corporation shall provide such assurances that
• the funds. will be so restricted in their use as the City Manager.
