HomeMy Public PortalAbout1993-028Member James Johnson adoption: introduced the following resolution and moved its CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 93-28 RESOLUTION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR THORPE DISTRIBUTING COMPANY WHEREAS, Thorpe Distributing Company (Applicant) has requested approval of a plan to construct a warehouse facility on property legally described as Outlot A, Alpana Second Addition, which land is proposed to be replatted as Lot 1, Block 1, Thorpe Distributing Company Addition; and WHEREAS, the proposed warehouse facility requires issuance of a conditional use permit under the City's zoning ordinance; and WHEREAS, the planning commission has considered the matter, following a public hearing, and has recommended approval of the conditional use permit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Medina, Minnesota that a conditional use permit be issued for the Applicant for the described purpose, subject to the following terms and conditions: 1. The building shall not exceed 48,000 square feet; 2. There shall be no exterior storage on the site; 3. Any signs utilized on the site must meet City code requirements; 4. The Applicant must install landscaping or use other techniques to screen the parking area from adjacent property as shown on the approved plan; 5. All trash containers on the property must be screened or kept inside the building; 6. All roof top mechanical equipment must be screened from view from adjacent properties or roads; 7. As a minimum, the Applicant must install the landscaping according to the approved plan; RHB53119 ME230-180 8. Site parking must be constructed as shown on the approved plan including concrete curb and gutters; 9. All loading areas must be constructed to meet code requirements and concrete and pavement areas must meet City specifications; 10. The site may not exceed the maximum hardcover limitations of the city code; 11. The allowable hours of operation are 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; 12. The number of employees shall not exceed 45; 13. Exterior lighting shall be designed and installed so that the globe is recessed and enclosed on all sides except the bottom and no light is cast directly on any other property; 14. There shall be no outside loudspeakers or bells; 15. The building must be sprinkled throughout and fire hydrants and the fire road must be installed in accordance with the requirements of the fire department and fire marshall; 16. The Applicant shall pay to the City an administrative fee to reimburse the City for all expenses in reviewing this application; and 17.
