Public Notice
The City Council of the City of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 275 . The
ordinance is a comprehensive revision of the City's shoreland overlay zoning
district. The ordinance brings Medina's shoreland ordinance into compliance with
state requirements by listing all public waters within the city and restricting
development within the shoreland overlay zone. These areas are generally within
1,000 feet of named lakes and 300 feet of specified tributary streams. Setbacks are
established from the ordinary high water levels of public waters and other
restrictions on development apply within the shoreland overlay district. Uses
allowed within the underlying zoning districts are also allowed within the shoreland
overlay district. However, in some cases more stringent setbacks or lot area
requirements apply, possbily making some existing structures or lots non-
conforming under the amended ordinance. The full text of Ordinance No. 275 is
available at Medina city hall during regular business hours.
