"A RESOLUTION OF THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING A PRELIMINARY APPLICATION TO THE LOS ANGELES -
COUNTY OVERALL .ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM COMMITTEE
FOR FUNDING UNDER THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION
TITLE I PROGRAM FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CORPORATION
YI~RD AND EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER." .
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States of America has
enacted-the Economic Development Administration Title I Public Works
Assistance Program, which provides funds for certain .political sub-
divisions of the United States for developing public works and en-'
couraging economic development; and
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles:County Overa-11 Economic Development
Program Committee has been delegated the responsibility to review pro-
jects to be considered for eligibility. under the Program in Los Angeles
County; and
WHEREAS, the project to be applied .for irnvolves the construc-
Lion of a combined Lynwood Corporation Yard and Emergency Operations
Center,.which will b.e of significant benefit in encouraging economic
_ ,._ - development and c--reating permanent new-jobs; - - -- ~ ..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby- .
approves the filing of a preliminary application for constructing a
combined hynwood Corporation Yard and Emergency Operations Center with
the Los Angeles County Overall Economic Development Program Committee
for their review-prior to submission to the Economic Development ~_
Administration.
