A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF PROPERTY
NECESSARY FOR THE WIDENING AND IMPROVEMENT
OF LONG BEACH BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has
determined that the widening and improvement of Long Beach Boulevard
from the northerly to the southerl~r boundaries. of the City is
necessary for the convenience, welfare., and safety of the public, and
WHEREAS, it has been d"etermined that the best interest
of the City shall be served by the acquisition of property necessary
for said widening,. and
WHEREAS, the City has appropriated certain funds for
this acquisition and development, and
WHEREAS, the City Council. has received an Environmental
impact statement•on the Long Beach Boulevard Project and have
determined that no significant environmental impact wi11 occur in
the completion of this project
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF~`LYNWOOD AS FOLLOWS
Section 1 The following described property is necessary
for the widea~ia~g of Long Beach Boulevardo
Parcel 9
That portion of the 5 45 acre tract allotted to Oscar
Tower by decree of. partition rendered in Case No 35.90,
0f the District Court., in the Rancho San Antonio, in
the city of Lynwood, county of Los Angeles, state
California, described as follows
Beginning at a point on the westerly line of Long Beach
Boulevard, distant South 140 24° East 610125 feet from
the intersection of said westerly line of Lang Beach
Boulevard, with the northerly line of said allotment
to Oscar Tower, said point of intersection being the
southeast corner of Lot 6 of Tract No~ 2'794 as per map
thereof, recorded in book 28 page 6 of Maps., thence
South 140 24' East along the westerly line of Long Beach
Boulevard 61x125 feet, said point of beginning being-
also the southeasterly corner of the land conveyed by
deed to Russell and Arlene Mangold, husband and wife,
recorded on April ?9 1955 as Instrument No 1455.,
records of said county,'thence westerly along the southerly
line of said land of mangold to a line that is 6050
feet westerly, measured at right angles, from the
westerly line of said Long Beach Boulevard, thence
southerly along last said line 9500 feet, thence
westerly at right angles to last said line to a line
that is 10 00 feet westerly, measured at right angles,
from the westerly line of said Lmng Beach Boulevard,
thence southerly along last said line to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave northwesterly, having a radius
of 1'7 00 feet, the southerly terminus of said curve

15942 page 50 Official Records of said county,. as excepted
in the deed from John F and. Plumes Schwab, husband anal
wife, recorded October 3, 1955 in book 49119 page 144,
Official Records of said county, thence southwesterly
along said curve to said northerly line of deed to said
city, thence easterly along said northerly line to the
westerly line of said Long Beacki Boulevard, thence North
140 24° West, along the westerly line of said Long Beach
Boulevard to the point of beginna.ngo

to Frank H Head and wife, by deed dated December 21,
1921 and recorded in book 759 page 16'6, Official
Records of said county, being also the westerly line
of Long Beach Boulevard, 80 00 feet as now established,
thence westerly along the southerly line of said land
of Head to a line that is 10 00 feet westerly, measured
at right angles, from the westerly line of said Long
Beach Boulevard, thence northerly along last described
line to the beginning of a tangent curve concave south-
easterly having a radius of 17°00 feet, the northerly
terminus being also tangent to the southerly line of the
deed 'to the city of Lynwood, recorded in book 15942 page 50,
official records of said county on July 9, 1938, as
excepted in the deed from John F and Plumes Schwab,
husband and wife, recorded October 39 1955 in book 49119
page 144 Official Records of. said county,. thence northerly
along said curve to last said southerly line, thence
easterly, along last said southerly line to the westerly
line of said Long Beach Boulevard, thence South 140 24'
East, along the westerly line of said Long Beach Boulevard,
to the point of beginning

Section 2 That. the purchase price of the above described
property has been negotiated with Jack Cherniss and Shirley Cherniss
in the amount of $6,515 00
Section 3o That the City Council authorize and direct
City Staff to take whatever steps necessary to accept this property
in accordance with the terms and conditions as set forth above
