A"RESOLUTION QF THE CITY COUNCLL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD REQUESTING A COUNTY/CIT,Y
AGREEMENT FOR CONTRACTUAL"LAW"ENFORCEMENT
' SERVLCES,FROM"THE.COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES
THROUGH THE SHERIFF OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY
.WHEREAS, the .City Council„of ahe~_City__~o.f _L--y.nw.ood-,--on ------
October 25; 1976., requested the Los Angeles_County Sheriff
to complete,a feasibility study for providing contract law" .
enforcement servi"ces to the_Ci.ty of Lynwood", utilizing the
Lynwood Police facility; and
WHEREAS.;, the Gounty of Los Angeles has. submitted the
report entitled "Lynwood Feasibility Study - Final Report",
dated April 10, 1977, expressing the desirability to formulate
the various County/City agreements necessary to implement
contract law. enforcement services; and
WHEREAS,. such contracts are authorized-and provided
for by the provisions of Section 56=I/2 and~~Section 56-3/4
of the Charter of the~County of Los .Angeles and Article 1,
Chapter 1, Part 2, Division 1, Title 5 of the Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA; DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section l: To request. the Board of Supervisors of
Los: Angeles County to provide .for. a County/City Contractual
La.w Enforcement Services Agreement(s) with. the City of Lynwood
for general law enforcement services to be provided through.
the Sheriff of Los Angeles County; and,.,

agreement(s) provide fo.r the merger of the Lynwood City Police
Department with the Office of the Los Angeles County Sheriff; and

Section 3: That the County of Los Angeles Sheriff's
Department utilize, through a County/City lease agreement,
the Lynwood Police Department Building as modified by the
City of Lynwood for providing such contractual law enforce-
ment services to the. City of Lynwood, and unincorporated
County areas. _ __ ,_
