A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD RELATING TO THE DESTRUCTION
OF RECORDS.
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood has
retained certain warrants in the lawful execution of her
responsibilities which are no longer required, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has retained certain records
in the lawful execution of her responsibilities which are no
longer required, and
WHEREAS, Government Code ~ 34090 permits the head of
a city department to destroy any city record, document,
instrument, book or paper under his charge, without making a
copy thereof, after the same is no longer required,
_.~<, - NOW., THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1
LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS
Section 1. The records to be destroyed pursuant to

this resolution do not include records the destruction of
which is specifically prohibited by Government Code ~ 34090,
namely
(a) Records affecting the title to real
property or liens thereon,
(b) Court records,
(c) Records required to be kept by statute,
(d) Records less than twa~years old,
(e.) The minutes, ordinances, or resolutions
of the legislative body of the City
of Lynwood.

Section 2 The written consent of the City Attorney
has been obtained prior to the destruction of any and all city
records pursuant to this resolution..
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood
is hereby authorized to destroy the following re cords
Recreation receipts & unused Prior to 1959
receipt books
Treasurer receipts Prior to 1959
Cash receipts Prior to 1959
Time cards

Prior
to 1959
Purchase Order copies Prior to 1959
Monthly Budget Reports 1961 thru 1969
.Monthly Cash Receipts July, 1960 thru
Journals June, 1969
Miscellaneous Receipts 1966 thru 1968
Treasurer Receipts 1967 thru 196.9
Warrants June, 1868 thru
July, 1969
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of May, 1877.
