RESOLUTION NO. 13-8643
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO
TO DEVELOP A PLAN AND MAKE RECOMMENDATION TO
KEEP THE OPA-LOCKA BRANCH LIBRARY OPEN;PROVIDING
FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to keep the Opa-locka
Branch Library open for the residents of Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires that the City Manager work with County
Commissioner Barbara Jordan,as well as compile a report on the costs to keep the library open;and
WHEREAS,the City Manager is authorized to develop a plan and make recommendations
to the City Commission to keep the Opa-locka Branch Library open, should the County not provide
funds to keep it open.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby directs and
authorizes the City Manager to work with County Commissioner Barbara Jordan,as well as compile
a report on the costs to keep the Opa-locka branch open and develop a plan and make
recommendation to the City Commission to keep the Opa-locka Branch Library open, should the
County not provide the funds to keep the Library open.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
