RESOLUTION N0. 77-7~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A POLICY.RELATING
TO NEPOTISM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood noted
that said City did not have a policy defining Nepotism; and
WHEREAS, said Council was of the opinion that such
a policy is a significant part of the city's Civil Service
System;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE City Council
of the City of Lynwood hereby establishes the policy defining
N'e'~ot`ism as
"Family Relationships: Members of an immediate
family shall not be employed under direct super-
vision of a member of a family. Thee~te.rm, 'immediate ~
family' is defined as one of the following blood or
marital relationships.; -~ -~ ---~

(a) Father, mother, son, daughter, brother or
sister.
(b) Husband, wife, father-in-l.aw, mother-in-law,
brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law,
daughter-in-law, step-father, step-mother,'
step-son or step-daughter."
BE IT ~•F,URTHER RESOLVED that the aforesaid policy shall
not be applicable to any employee of the City presently employed
under the direct supervision of a member of his or her family.
