AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM EMPLOYMENT AID READINESS NETWORK INDIANA
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-14-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any
other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any
monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Employment Aid Readiness Network ("EARN") has grant funding available
through its EARN Indiana grant program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Parks Department has submitted or will submit a grant
application to obtain funds to fund or reimburse the hiring of up to five (5) temporary
interns to assist with office work and help with summer camps; and
WHEREAS, A fifty percent (50%) local match is required, which local match will come from the
Parks Department budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond Parks Department has submitted or will submit, as authorized by
IC 36-1-4-10, a grant application to the Employment Aid Readiness Network.
2. The City of Richmond Parks Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in
an amount up to Sixteen Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($16,000.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to fund or reimburse the hiring of up to
five (5) temporary interns to assist with office work and help with summer camps for
the Parks Department.
Passed and adopted this C�. day of -2015 by the Common council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
