A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL ,OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD,~ CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF
THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE
HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 7TH, DAY OF MARCH,
1978, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID
CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS .OF THE LAWS OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW
CITIES-AND FOR 'THE SUBMISSION. TO THE QUALIFIED
ELECTORS OF SAID CITY OF A CERTAIN QUESTION,
PROPOSITION OR MEASURE RELATING TO THE OFFICE OF
CITY TREASURER. - -
WHEREAS, under the provisions of 'the laws relating to
'general law cities in the State of California, a regular general
'municipal election shall be held on the. 7th day of March, 1978,:
for the election of .two members of the City Council of said City
.for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said City.for .
'.the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City
for the full term of four years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood also
desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at said

office of the City Treasurer hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the
laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities
within said~State,~there shall be, and there is hereby called
and ordered, held in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles,.
State o.f California, on Tuesday, the 7th day of March, ,1978, a
regular general municipal election of the qualified electors of
said City for"the purpose of~electirig`two members of the-City
Council of said City for the full term of four years; a City
Clerk of said City'for the full term of four years; and a City
Treasurer of said City for the full term of four years.
Section 2. That said City Council, pursuant to its
right and authority so to do, does hereby determine that there
shall be and there is hereby. ordered submitted to the qualified
electors of said City at said regular general municipal election ,
the following question, to wit: a measure concerning the office
of City Treasurer.
Section 3. That the foregoing proposal hereby sub- _
miffed shall appear upon the ballots for said general municipal
election substantially in the following form:

word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted

Section 4. That the ballots to be used at said
election shall be, both as to form and matter contained therein,
,such as may be required by law to be used thereat.
Section 5. That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
authorized,, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any
and all official ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies,
equipment and paraphernalia that may be necessary in order to
properly and lawfully conduct said election.
Section 6. That for the purpose of holding said
. regular general municipal election, there shall be and--are -- ~~
hereby established twenty-four (24) voting precincts consisting
of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City
of Lynwood established for the holding of state and county
elections, as said regular, election precincts exist on the date

of. adoption of this resolution, and that the polling places for
the respective polling precincts shall be designated and the
officers of election appointed by subsequent resolution of the
City Council.
Section 7. That the polls for said election shall be
open at seven o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall
remain open continuously from said time until seven o~clock P.M.
of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as
provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code. of the State of
California.
Section 8. That in all particulars not :recited in
this resolution, said election shall be held and conducted as
provided by law for holding municipal elections in said City.
Section g. .That notice of the time and place of
holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is
hereby authorized, instructed and directed to give such further
or additional notice of said election in time, form and manner
as required by law.
Section 10.
That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage and adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same
in the book of original Resolutions of said City, and shall
make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records
of the proceedings of the City Council of said City in the
minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
Section 11. That this resolution~'s.hall take effect
immediately.
