RESOLUTION N0. 77-109..
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD RELATING TO THE DESTRUCTION OF RECORDS.
- WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood has retained
certain warrants in the lawful execut~om of her. responsibilities
which are no longer required; and
• WHEREAS, the City Clerk has retained certain records in the
lawful execution of her responsibilities which are no longer required;
and
WHEREAS, the Water Billing Supervisor of, the Water Depart-
ment of the City of Lynwood has retained certain receipts. and billing
sheets in the lawful execution of its responsibilities which are no
longer required; and - '
WHEREAS, Government Code ~ 34090 permits the head of a
"" city department to destroy any city record, document, instrument,
book or paper under his charge, without making a copy thereof, after
the same is no longer required;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
HEREBY DOES FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The records to be destroyed pursuant to this
Resolution do not include_records the destruction of which is
specifically prohibited by Government'Code~-~'~~,34090, namely:
(a) Records affecting the title to real property
or liens thereon; '
{b) Court records;
-~--{c)-~-----Records required- to be kept by stat"ute;
(d) Records less than two years old ,•
(e) The minutes, ordinances, or resolutions
of the legislative body of the City of
Lynwood.
Section 2. The written consent of the City Attorney has
been obtained prior to the destruction of any and all city records•
pursuant to this resolution.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is
hereby authorized to destroy the following records:
Treasurer's Receipt Ledger 1932
Cash Journa l 1930-32
1934-35
1937
1928
Special Assessment Journals
Volumes 1, 2 and 4 1935
