RESOLUTION NO. 13-8650
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO APPROVE A SETTLEMENT
AGREEMENT FOR CASE NUMBER 12-03630 CA 15 IN THE
CIRCUIT COURT OF THE 11TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT,IN AND FOR
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL, PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT
NUMBER 28-514390; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Deborah Irby, a former employee of the City of Opa-locka, initiated
litigation against the City of Opa-locka, Case No. 12-03630 CA 15, in the Circuit Court of the 1 lth
Judicial Circuit, in and for Miami-Dade County, FL; and
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka desires an amicable resolution to the matter, and
finds it in the best interest of the City to settle the matter, and to avoid unnecessary expense and
the uncertainty of litigation; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to approve the
settlement agreement between Deborah Irby and the City of Opa-locka.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, approves the settlement
agreement with Deborah Irby, in the amount of$58,500, in substantially the form attached hereto
as Exhibit"A", payable from Account Number 28-514390.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
