RESOLUTION NO. 13-8654
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,
FLORIDA DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER INFORM
THE RESIDENCE OF OPA-LOCKA OF KNOWN SEXUAL
OFFENDERS/PREDATORS LIVING IN THE CITY OF
OPA-LOCKA BY PUBLISHING THE SEXUAL
OFFENDERS/PREDATORS IDENTITY ON THE
WEBSITES, QUATERLY NEWSPAPER AND PUBLIC
BROADCASTING STATION; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desire to keep the residents
of Opa-locka aware of Sexual Offenders/Predators living in the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka is concerned about the
whereabouts of convicted sex offenders who live among the residents of Opa-locka; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desire to provide maximum
protection for our children and all who are likely to be effected by sexual offenders/predators;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires to direct the City
Manager to publish the names of known convicted sex offenders/predators living in Opa-locka,
by way of website, quarterly newspaper and Public Broadcasting Station("PBS").
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby directs
and authorizes the City Manager to publish the name of sexual offenders/predators residing in
the City of Opa-locka on the City's website, PBS channel, and in the City's quarterly newspaper
by means of a link to the Miami-Dade County website.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
