A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD RELATING
TO THE DESTRUCTION OF WATER RECEIPTS AND BILLING SHEETS
WHEREAS, the Water Biiling Supervisor of the Water Department
of the City of Lynwood has retained certain receipts and billing sl-~eets in the lawful
execution of its responsibilities which are no longer required; and
WHEREAS, Government Code s34090 permits the head of a city departme nt
to destroy any city record, document, instrumer~t, book or paper, under his charge,
without making a copy thereof, after the same is no longer required;
1`dOW, Z`HEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
HEREBY DOES FIND, DETERMINE, RESOLVE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The records to be destroyed pursuant to this Resolution
do not include records the destruction of which is specifically prohibited by
Government Code s34090 namely:
(a) Records affecting the title to real property or liens thereon;
(b) Court Records;
(c) Records required to be kept by statute;
(d) Records less than five yeara old;
(e) The minutes, ordinances, or resolutions of the le~islative
body of the City of Lynwood.
Seetion 2. The written consent of the City Attorney has been obtained
prior to the destruction of any and all city records pursuant to this resolution.
Section 3. The Water Billing Supervisor of the City of Lynwood is hereby
authorized to destroy all and any water receipts and billing sheets completed prior
to January 1, 1971.
