CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 93-98
RESOLUTION GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
FOR A HOME OCCUPATION TO ROBERT OLSON
WHEREAS, Robert Olson (Applicant) has requested a conditional use permit
for a home occupation for a painter's studio at the property located at 952 Medina
Road; and
WHEREAS, the proposed home occupation requires a conditional use permit
under the city's zoning ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the planning commission reviewed the request on November 9, 1993
and the city council reviewed the matter on December 7, 1993; and
WHEREAS, the city council has determined that the proposed use would not
interfere with the development of adjacent properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Medina, Minnesota that a conditional use permit for a home occupation for a painter's
studio be granted to the Applicant for the above property, subject to the following
conditions:
1. No more than one outside employee shall be permitted on the property;
2. There shall be no over the counter sales;
3. There shall be no exterior signs;
4. The studio must be contained completely within the home;
5. There shall be only limited visits by customers to the property;
6. The area in which visitors park must be screened from view from
adjacent properties;
7. There shall be only limited deliveries to the property;
8. The entrance to the studio must be completely within the home;

9. There shall be no vehicle on the property displaying the name of the
Applicant's business;
10. Any outside lighting must be designed and installed so that the globe
is recessed and enclosed on all sides except the bottom and no light is
cast directly on any other property;
11. Hours of operation may be 24 hours per day, 7 days per week;
12. The studio shall be located as shown on the plan submitted by the
Applicant and approved by the city; and
13. The Applicant must pay to the city for administrative expenses the
amount determined by the city staff to represent the actual cost to the
city for reviewing this conditional use permit.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Philip Zietlow
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Council Members Ferris, James Johnson, Ann Thies, Zietlow and Mayor Anne Theis
and the following voted against same: None.
Absent: None.
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
