Chainnan Eldridge called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Nonnan updated the AC on the status ofhis budget preparation. He has solicited and received
budgets from all town departments, but has not yet compiled his recommendations for the
Selectmen. All town departments have submitted budgets in accordance with Nonnan's
guideline ofa 2.65% decrease in expenditures this fiscal year, except for the school
department. The School Committee's budget is .5% higher than last year. The SC's budget
includes amounts for step and lane payroll increases, a $100,000 amount for COLA increases,
and no increases for athletic or after-school activity fees.
Nonnan's goal is to use any free cash balances this year and in subsequent years to fund
additions to the stabilization fund and capital expenditures. The AC wholeheartedly agreed
with this policy, and noted it was more in line with what surrounding communities do with
their free cash.
Joe moved and Stuart seconded adjournment at 8: 10 pm. The motion passed unanimously.
