AUTHOR,IZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
DECOTIIS, FITZPATRICK & COLE, LLP
'WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret, C'Borough"), is in need of specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, & Cole, LLP possess the requisite skill and expertise to
provide such s.pecialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Law Director of the Borough of Carteret has recommended the appointment of
DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP to defend the Borough of Carteret in various matters at a cost
not to exceed $19,281.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said
purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Mayor and Council of the Borough ofCarteret,
that DeCotlis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP hereby appointed as special counsel to defend the
Borough of Carte reI in the above described matters at a cosl nol to exceed $19,281.00; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED thaI this appointment is made as a professional services
contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:i 1-5(I)(a) in accordance wilh the Borough's Fair and Open
Process as authorized by law.
