RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD, ESTABLISHING CEgTAIN
BENEFITS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
FOR FISCAL YEAR, 1976-1977.
WHEREAS, collective bargaining was entered into in
good faith by a bargaining team from the Peace Officers'
Association of Lynwood, consisting of Lowell Hoffman and
Jess Bembry and a management team representing the City of
Lynwood, consisting of Josephine L. Shepherd, Acting City
Manager, and Michael D. Taft, Administrative Assistant; and
WHEREAS, no mutually agreeable results concerning
items which would affect the budget for fiscal year 1976-
1977 were reached prior to June 15, so that, pursuant to
Resolution No. 71-32 (F) an impasse was reached; and the
Peace Officers' Association declared that an impasse had
been reached on June 30, 1976; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing to resolve said impasse
was held on July 30, 1976, at 7:00 p.m., concerning the
benefits which should be accorded to the Police Department
for the City of Lynwood for the fiscal year, 1976-1977;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD HEREBY DOES FIND, DETERMINE, ORDER AND RESOLVE
that the following schedule of benefits for the Police
Department of the City of Lynwood shall be effective as of
July 25, 1976:
l. That salaries shall be increased as follows:
a. Police Officers $60 per month;
b. Sergeants $70 per month;
c. Lieutenants $80 per month;
2. That the uniform allowance for the aforesaid
Peace Officers be raised to $250 per month.
3• At such times (when not otherwise on duty
for purposes of compensation) as police
officers are required to be on call for court
appearances pursuant to subpoena, such officers
shall be compensated for the equivalent of four
working hours or the actual amount of time
expended in connection with such appearances,
whichever is greater.
4. That such benefits be effective as of July 25, 1976.
