Chairman Eldridge called the meeting to order at 1 0:07AM. The purpose ofthe meeting was to consider
requested budget adjustments from the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee in advance ofAnnual
Town Meeting beginning Monday, May 3, 2010. The AC meeting was part ofa joint 3-way session ofthese
three boards.
The BOS voted a change to the Police Department (Dept. 210) FY'11 budget to allow more flexibility in the
ongoing negotiations, particularly as it addresses handling ofthe Quinn bill. The bottom line figure
($2,145,143.65) will not change. The request was to decrease the salary line (line 0275) and increase the
expense line (line 0077). Stuart moved and Joe seconded a motion to allow for this change. The motion passed
unanimously.
The SC requested a change to add a second grade teacher at a cost of $45,460 to bring the fmal School
Committee request to $32,317,998. The impact ofthis hire would be to have second grade class sizes at 22 per
teacher rather than 24. The BOS unanimously supported this adjustment. Stuart moved and Joe seconded a
motion to allow for this change. The motion passed unanimously.
Joe moved and Stuart seconded a motion to adjourn at 10:27 AM. The motion passed unanimously.
