RESOLUTION NO. 13-8683
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, PURSUANT
TO THE HEARING ON THE PROTEST OF THE
AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR RFP NO. 13-2805200,
FOR CITYWIDE SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND
DISPOSAL SERVICES, FILED BY PROGRESSIVE
WASTE SOLUTIONS OF FLORIDA; PROVIDING
FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Opa-locka ("City") issued RFP No. 13-2805200 for
citywide solid waste collection and disposal services; and
WHEREAS, proposals were received in accordance with the law, and it was
recommended that the City award RFP 13-2805200 to Ecological Paper Recycling Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2013, the City received a letter on behalf of
Progressive Waste Solutions of Florida, protesting award of the contract to Ecological
Paper Recycling ("Ecological"), Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka has heard the protest
of Progressive Waste Solutions of Florida, protesting the award to Ecological Paper
Recycling Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA,FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka has heard the protest
to the award of contract for RFP No. 13-2805200, for citywide solid waste collection and
disposal services, filed by Progressive Waste Solutions of Florida, and said protest is
granted.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
