RESOLUTION NO. 13-8684
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, TO AUTHORIZE THE
CITY MANAGER TO EXPEND UTILITY FUNDS TO TEST
AND MAINTAIN THE CITY'S FIRE HYDRANTS, BY
EMPLOYING RESIDENTS THROUGH WORKFORCE,
PAYABLE FROM ACCOUNT NO.'S 64-533120, 64-533210,
AND 64-533220, A BUDGETED ITEM; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka desires the conservation of
the City's fire hydrants; and
WHEREAS, in order to conserve the City's fire hydrants, the fire hydrants will need to
be tested and maintained; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission requests that the City employ residents of the City
through Workforce, and not seek outside bids,to perform testing and maintenance services; and
WHEREAS,the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka authorizes the City Manager
to expend funds to test and maintain the City's fire hydrants, and to employ City residents
through Workforce to perform the required services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, authorizes the City
Manager to expend utility funds to test and maintain the City's fire hydrants, and to employ
residents of the City through Workforce, to perform the testing and maintenance, payable from
Account No.'s 64-533120, 64-533210, and 64-533220, a budgeted item.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of September, 2013.
