A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING AN EASEMENT
INDENTURE BETWEEN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND
SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
has approved the installation of traffic signal improvements at
Industry Way and Alameda Street in the City of Lynwood for the
welfare and safety of the public, and
WHEREAS, a railroad preemption circuit is necessary
in the operation of said traffic signals with regards to an adjacent
railroad spur crossing across Alameda Street, and
WHEREAS, said circuit would by necessity be constructed
upon, along, across and beneath the property and tracks of Southern
Pacific Transportation Company railroad, and
WHEREAS, in order to execute said construction an
easement upon Southern Pacific Transportation Company's property is
necessary,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
resolves as follows:
Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council
of the City of Lynwood to obtain an easement for traffic signal
preemption purposes hereafter described.
Section 2. The easement proposed to be obtained is
described as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of Parcel Map
22-14, said Parcel Map being recorded in Book 22,
Page T4, of the Official Records of said Los Angeles
County; thence N 70 34' 00" W 175045 feet along the
east line of said map; thence N 82~ 26' 00" E 71.00
feet to the True Point of Beginning of this description;
thence N 82° 28' 00" E 8000 thence N 7° 32' 00" W
180.00 feet; thence S 82° 28' 00" W 8.00 feet;
thence S?° 320 00" W 180.00 feet along the west line
of the Southern Pacific Transportation Companyos
land, 90 feet wide, to the True Point of Beginning.
The location of the easement is shown on Southern Pacific Transportation
Company°s Los Angeles Division Drawing A-12369 and x~eference is made
to said map for further particularso
Section 3. The City Council authorizes the acceptance
and execution~of an~easement~indenture between the City of Lynwood
and Southern~Pacific Transportation Company for said property in
aceordance with-terms and conditions as set forth above.
