RESOZUTION ENDORSING THE PRIORITY PLAN
FOR EXPENDITURE FOR JURISDICTIONS WITHIN
T~E COUNTY OF LOS ANGEI.ES FROM THE NEJEDLY-HART
STATE, URBAN, AND COASTAL PARK BOND ACT OF 1976
WHEREAS, SB 1321 approved by the Governor of the State of California on June 24, 1976
created the Nejedly-Hart State, Urban, and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976; and
WHEREAS, the voters of the State of California on November 2, 1976 adopted the Nejedly-
Hart State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976 and authorized the issuance of bonds in
the amount of $280 million to provide funds to acquire, develop, and restore real property
for State and 1oca1 park, beach, recreational and historical purposes; and
WHEREAS, approximately $24.5 million of these funds will be available for use by Los
Angeles County and eligible cities and districts within Los Angeles County for the acquisi-
tion and development of high priority projects; and
WHEREAS, Section 5096.127 of the Public Resources Code requires that each County of the
State submit a priority plan of expenditures to the State Department of Parks and Recreation
prior to June 30, 1978; and
WF~REAS, the plan must be approved by at l.east 50 percent of the cities and districts
within the County representing at least 50 percent of the population of the cities and
districts, and by the County Soard of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, similar provisians were required for State Beach, Park, Historical and Recrea-
tional E`acilities Bond Act of 1974 and aftar numerous meetings more than 50 percent of the
jurisdictions and representing more than 50 percent of the population agreed that the expend~
ture plan should provide 25 percent of the available funds to Los Angeles County in re~ogni-
tion of its regional park responsibility as we1T as its local park responsibility and the
remaining i5 percant tc be made avaslable to cities and districts on an equal per capita basi
except that na jurisdiction would receive less than $10,000; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT F~ESOLVED, that the CTTY COUNCIL of CITY OF LYNWOOD hereby approves
the priority plan for- expenditures for i,os Angeles County as adopted at the December 2, 1976
meeting. Said plan is attached hereto and mada a part hereof.
