RESOLUTION NO. 13-8698
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY AND
GREENSPOON MARDER, PA TO HANDLE THE LITIGATION
MATTER REGARDING PROGRESSIVE WASTE SOLUTIONS OF
FL, INC., VS. THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, CASE NO. 2013-
31685-CA-Ol; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on October 4, 2013, Progressive Waste Solutions of FL, Inc.
("Progressive Waste") filed a lawsuit against the City regarding the decision made by the City
Commission on September 25, 2013, to award a contract for solid waste collection and
services to Ecological, pursuant to the City's Request for Production (RFP No: 13-2805200);
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka finds that it is both
necessary and appropriate to authorize the City Attorney to handle the litigation this matter;
and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka finds it is in the best
interest of the City to authorize the City Attorney and Greenspoon Marder, PA to handle the
litigation matter brought by Progressive Waste.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.

Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, authorizes the City
Attorney and Greenspoon Marder, PA to handle the litigation matter filed in Miami-Dade
County Circuit Court, styled Progressive Waste Solutions of FL, Inc. vs. the City Of Opa-
locka, Case No. 2013-31685-CA-01, with a detailed report of the date and exact nature of
services rendered and the time spent thereof.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
