AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF
MIDDLESEX FOR AN OPEN SPACE GRANT-
SULLN AN FIELD, CARTERET P ARK IMPROVE~1ENTS
wHEREAS, the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders has awarded the Borough 8j
Grant'in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) to be used for Sullivan'
Field, Carteret Park Improvements pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the Grant;:
and
WHEREAS, as a condition to the donation of such monies the parties must enter into a formal
Agreement setting forth the terms and conditions of said Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Borough finds said grant to be desirable and is willing to accept said Grant
under the set conditions; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement
with the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders on behalf of the
Borough.
2. That a copy of the executed grant be forwarded to the Clerk of the
Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Dear Mayor Reiman:
As you know, the Board of Chosen Freeholders, at its April 8, 2010 meeting, will
consider adoption of a resolution to authorize the execution of a grant agreement with the
Township for above project.
In connection therewith, please find an original and two (2) copies of said
agrecment for execution by you. Please return the executed agreements to tltis office,
together with a celtified copy of the Borough resolution or ordinance, wltichever is
appropriate, which authorizes the execution of the agreement with the County.
Thereafter, this office will forward the agreement to the Freeholder Director so that he
may execute the agreement on behalf of the County.
