UEZ CONTRACT MIENDMENT SIGN & FACADE
MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM]]
'WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret Urban Enterprise Zone Board unanimously recommends
the adoption of a resolution" requesting a contract amendment for additional ftmding for the
Carteret Sign & Facade Matching Grant Program II, and
tVHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board wish to support the Sign
& Fa~ade Matching Grant Program II, which ,vill contribute as a catalyst to the expansion of
Carteret's business districts and redevelopment areas through new business capital investments
and employment opportunities; and
'YHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret and the Urban Enterprise Board have reviewed the
proposed purposes and support the Carteret Sign & Fayade Matching Grant Program IT; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to NJ.S.52.27H-88 (c), in order to fund the project from funds deposited
in the enterprise Zone Assistance Fund. the governing body must adopt a resolution approving
the project and authorizing the submission of contract amendment for additional funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret do hereby authorize and direct the submission of a request for contract amendment for
additional funding (20% maximum of original contract award $75,000) in the amount of
$15,000.00 to the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Program; and to be funded from monies
deposited in the Enterprise Zone Assistance Fund and credited to the account of the Borough of
Carteret, said account maintained by the State Treasurer for the Enterprise Zone.
BE IT FURTHER RESOL YED that the Borough Clerk forward certified copies of the
resolution to the Urban Enterprise Zone Program Coordinator and members of the Urban
Enterprise Zone Board.
