HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 1437.. l _ ~~ , (ORDINANCE "A") CITY OF LYNWOOD LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1437 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD EXTENDING URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 1416, AS AMENDED BY URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 1419, WHICH IMPOSES A MORATORIUM ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OR EXPANSION OF CERTAIN AUTOMOTIVE USES WITHIN ALL LAND USE ZONES OF THE CITY, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF - - _- -- ------_. ..___. THE _ CITY- .COUNCIL .OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES ORDAIN- AS ~.. FOLLOWS: ` Section 1. In accordance with Government Code Section 65858(d), the City Council, on June 6, 1996, caused to be issued a written report describing the measures taken to alleviate the conditions which led to the adoption of Ordinance No. 1416 and thereafter, on July 2, 1996, conducted a noticed public hearing as required by Government Code Section 65858(a) In accordance with applicable law, Ordinance No. 1416, as amended by Ordinance No. 1419., is extended for a period 'of one year to July 4, 19.97, and shall thereupon be of no further force and effect. Section 2. The City Council, the Planning Commission and the Department of Community Development are continuing to study various measures to alleviate the conditions which led to the adoption of Ordinance No. 1416, which conditions are recited in Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1416, and which continue to pose a current threat to the public, health, safety and_ welfare. This Ordinance extending Ordinance No. 1416, as amended by Ordinance No. 1419, will ensure that no approvals or entitlements for automotive uses will be granted under the ~ zoning ordinance or othe"r ordinances so as__ to conf.l_ict with future_.zoning _regulations now. under consideration and study. Section 3. The City.. Council incorporates by this reference the findings set forth in Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1416 and further determines that this Ordinance extending Ordinance No. 1416, as amended by Ordinance No. 1419, is necessary to prevent a current and immediate threat to the public health,. welfare and safety and will take effect immediately.
