ORDINANCE NO. 1439
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 1284 TO ESTABLISH THE SALARY FOR
THE POSITIONS OF CITY CLERK AND CITY TREASURER
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood previously adopted Ordinance
No. 1284 establishing salaries for the elected positions of City Clerk and City Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, Section 36517 of the Government Code of the State of California
authorizes the City Council to modify the salary of these positions from time to time; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate at this time to increase the salary
of the City Treasurer in the amount set' forth herein;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1284 shall be amended to read as follows:
"The compensation of the City Clerk shall be the sum of one thousand
six hundred dollars ($1,600) per month. The compensation of the
City Treasurer shall be in the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per
month. The salaries of both officials shall be payable bi-weekly or
on such other basis as the City Council may from time to time
determine."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the
extent of such conflict, are hereby repealed, as of the effective date of this ordinance, but shall
remain in full force_and effect. until such date. - . - - - -- -- - -- - - -~ - -
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on the 6th day of August
1996.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is hereby directed to certify to
the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published one time within fifteen (15)
days of its passage in the Lynwood Press-Wave, a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting in the City Council of the City of Lynwood held on
the 12th day of July 1996, and finally adopted and ordered published at a regular
meeting of said Council held 'on the 6th day of August 1996, by the following
vote: - -
AYES: COUNCILMEMBER BYRD, HEINE, HENNING, RICHARDS
NOES: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBER REA
