AN ORDDINANCE OF TAE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 1034, SECTION 2-23, SUBSECTION 2-23-1
OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE LYNWOOD MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO AUTHORITY TO SIGN CITY INSTRUMENTS
OF PAYMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES ORDAIN AS

Section 1. Subsection 2-23.1 of Section 2-23 of Chapter 2 of the Lynwood
Municipal Code shall be amended. in its entirety to read as follows:
2-23.1 Authority to Sign City Instruments of Payment
"Instruments of payment of the City must be signed by those officers of the
City who are from time to time designated by resolution of the City
Council, and any such signature may be a facsimile signature, if so
authorized by resolution of the City Council. In the "absence of
designation by resolution of the City Council, the following officers
are .authorized to sign instruments of payment for the City: The City
Treasurer, the Mayor, and the Mayor Pro Tempore. The term
"instrument of payment" means a check, draft, warrant, or order for
the payment delivery, or transfer of funds."

extent of such conflict, are hereby repealed, as of the effective date of this ordinance; but
shall remain in full force and effect until such date.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on the 19th day of
November 1996.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Lynwood is hereby directed to certify
passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published one time within fifteen (15)
days of its passage in the Lynwood Press-Wave, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting in the City Council of the City of Lynwood held
on the 5th day November , 1996, and finally adopted and ordered published at
a regular meeting of said Council held on the 19th day November , 1996, by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCLLMEMBER HEINE, REA, RICHARDS
NOES: NONE
ABSENT.•. COUNCILMEMBER BYRD, HENNING
PAUL H. RICHARDS II, MAYOR
