HomeMy Public PortalAbout1994-031Member Philip Zietlow introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF MEDINA RESOLUTION NO. 94-31 RESOLUTION APPROVING RENEWAL OF CURBSIDE COLLECTION CONTRACT WITH E-Z RECYCLING AND ESTABLISHING RECYCLING FEE OF $21.00 WHEREAS, the curbside recycling collection contract with E-Z Recycling expires on December 31, 1994; and WHEREAS, the West Hennepin Recycling Commission (WHRC) conducted a phone survey to evaluate the performance of E-Z Recycling; and WHEREAS, not one of the 103 residents polled was dissatisfied with the service; and WHEREAS, E-Z Recycling has agreed to include phone books, mixed paper, and non -hazardous content aerosol cans to the curbside recycling program beginning in 1995; WHEREAS, E-Z Recycling has proposed a three percent increase in their contract for the years 1995, 1996 and 1997; WHEREAS, the Hennepin County recycling grant will be decreased in 1995 by over $11,000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council Minnesota, as follows: 1. The curbside collection contract with E-Z Recycling for three years at a three percent increase, which yearly amount to $25,591. of Medina, be renewed brings the 2. Mayor ATTEST: The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Anne Theis and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: John Ferris, James Johnson, Ann Thies, Zietlow and Mayor Theis and the following voted against: None and the following were absent: None. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted this 17th day of May , 1994.
