A RESOLUTION TO AWARD THE CONTRACT FOR THE PHASE II OF THE
RECONSTRUCTION OF BELMONT ROAD
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("Riverdale"), held a public hearing on
December 15, 2009 on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated
cost for the Phase II of the Belmont Road Reconstruction Project (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Project is a public improvement, subject to the Iowa Construction
Bidding Procedures Act, Iowa Code Chapter 26 (the "Act"); and
WHEREAS, Riverdale has advertised for, opened, and considered sealed bids for the
Project as required by the Act; and
WHEREAS, the firm of Langman Construction, Inc. timely submitted a bid for the
Project of $ 1,572,426.32, making the Firm the lowest responsive, respectable bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Riverdale City Council that Riverdale
awards the Project contract to Langman construction; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Riverdale City Clerk shall retain the bid security
furnished by Langman Construction, Inc. until the approved contract form has been
executed, a bond has been filed by Langman Construction, Inc. guaranteeing the
performance of the contract, and the contract and bond have been approved by the City
Council; and
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Riverdale City Clerk shall return the bid security
submitted by the unsuccessful bidders within thirty days.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 6 day of April, 2010.
