HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD14520 BILL NO. 2009-1 SPONSORED BY COUNCILMAN Penfold ORDINANCE NO.— 1452,i�' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH JEFFERSON ASPHALT COMPANY FOR THE 2009 MILLING AND OVERLAY PROGRAM. WHEREAS, Jefferson Asphalt Company has become the apparent lowest and best bidder on the 2009 Milling and Overlay program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The bid of Jefferson Asphalt Company is declared to be the lowest and best bid and is hereby accepted. Section 2.The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Jefferson Asphalt Company for 2009 Milling and Overlay program. Section 3. The agreement shall be substantially the same in form and content as that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 4. FISCAL NOTE: 3503-9900-7350-4031 Street Resurfacing 2007-08 Budget $ 600,000.00 Expended -0- Encumbered -0- Bid 2392* $ 597,327.80 Balance $ 2,672.20 *Award was adjusted by deleting items within the bid to remain within the approved budget. PAST PERFORMANCE: This vendor has been awarded this project in the past and has completed the work as specified and bid. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends award of the bid to Jefferson Asphalt of Jefferson City, Missouri in the amount of$597,327.80.
