HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 10-068 ~h$ol:utiolt of t4~ ~orouB4 of C!.Inrt~rd, ~~ JJ~ No. 10-68 Date of Adoption March 4, 2010 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CME ASSOCIATES, RE: FEE ESTIMATE FOR SURVEYING SERVICES LOT I, BLOCK 242 \VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professional land surveying and engineering services with regard to Lot 1, Block 242, located in the Borough ofCarteret; and \VHEREAS, CME Associates, 1460 Route 9 South, Howell, New Jersey 0773). possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and \VHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a total cost uot to exceed $11,800.00; and \VHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and \VHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the Borough of Carleret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. The proposal from CfvlE Associates for professional surveying and engineering services with regard to Lot 1, Block 242, located in the Borough ofCarteret, at a total cost not to exceed $11,800.00 is hereby approved. 2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:II-5(1)(a) awarded pursuant to the Borough's Fair and Open process as authorized by law. 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department and CME Associates. Adopted this 4th day of March, 2010 and certified as a true copy of the original on March 5, 2010. The scope of our services shall include: . Preparation of a Land Survey in accordance with the State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Administrative Rules and Regulations 13:40-5,1 "Preparation of Land Surveys". Services include: Review Title Binder; Field traverse, locate visible surface improvements on the property In question and within 5-feet on the adjoining Lots; Field survey data reduction, boundary analysis and survey calculations; Provide six (6), sealed copies of survey. Having Ihe corner markers set eliminates the need for additional survey work and enables you to identify the property boundary. The additional cost for setting approximately eleven (19) corner markers Is $1,192. If you do not wish to have your corner markers set, please sign the enclosed waiver directing our office not to set corner markers. Any additional fees required to address the problem shall be agreed upon in wfltlng prior to continuing with the survey. Exceptions: I I ., ( ! . Survey will not be prepared as per NJDEP Green Acres Standards. . Any land surveying services beyond the scope outlined above will be considered extra. Said fees will be based on the hourly rate or a fixed fee mutually agreed upon In writing. . The fees on the hourly rate schedule are subject to change by January 1 of every year. The terms of this contract will be in effect for a period of one year from the date hereon. All documents including drawings and specifications prepared by CME pursuant to this Agreement are instruments of services and any reuse by others will require a written consent by CME.
