Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, the means of capture tYaus far employed by SPCA pex°~orinel
in attempting to ~ubdue dog packs in the. coxnmunity have met with littl~ su~c.ess,
and
WHEREAS, a more efficient me~ns to effect capturE of these animals i5
available to SPCA personnel with the authorization of the humane use of t~°anquila~er
guns, and
WHEREAS, the authority to use said weapons has sel~om been extenderl
for use in animal control in the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, the I.:ynwood City Council, prompted by its immediate con~ex°n
for the protection of citizens, approves and urges the humane use of tranquilizer
guns by SPCA per~sonnel as a solution to the grave problem of ~ubduing and
capturing wild dogs that are present in this community,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESULVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF' 'I'HE
CITY OF LYNWOOD THAT THE COUNCIL hereby a.pproves and urges authorbzation
from the President of the Board of Directors of the Southern California Humane
Society permitting the hum2~ne use of tranquilizer guns by SPCA field unit
personnel in subduing wild dogs in Lynwood.
