A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY
TO PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS OF
PROPOSITION NO. 1 RELATING TO THE AMENDTNG
OF ORDINANCE NO. 426 AUTHORIZING AN
AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND
THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
TO INCLUDE IMPROVED RETIREMENT BENEFITS
FOR THE SAFETY EMPLOYEES (FIREMEN AND
POLICEMEN) OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general
law cities in the State of California, a general municipal election shall be
held on March 5, 1974; and
WHEREAS, Proposition No. l, AN ORDINANCE OF THE
PEOPLE OF' THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
426 AIJTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND THE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO INCLUDE IMPROVED
RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR THE SAFETY EMPLOYEES (FIREMEN
AND POLICEMEN) OF' THE CITY, has qualified for a place on the ballot;
and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 5010. 5 of the
Elections Code the City Council may direct the City Attorney to prepare
an impartial analysis of Proposition No. l;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERIVIINE AND
ORDER AS FOLLOWS:

Section l. That pursuant to the requirements of Section
2010. 5 of the Elections Code, State of California, the City Clerk is
directed to transmit a copy of Proposition No. l, AN ORDINANCE OF
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO. 426 AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND
THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO IlVCLUDE
IMPROVED RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR THE SAFETY EMPLOYEES
(FIREMEN AND POLICEMEN) OF THE CITY, to the City Attorney.
Section 2. The City Attorney is directed to prepare an
impartial analysis of Proposition No. 1 showing the effect of Proposition
No. 1 on the existing law and the operation of said provision.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting
of the City Coucnil held on the 2nd day of January, 1974.
