RESOLUTION NO. 13-8727
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO END FURLOUGH DAYS FOR EMPLOYEES OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, financial concerns on the part of the City have resulted in the requirement
for City employees to take unpaid Furlough days in the current budget; and
WHEREAS, revenues for the City have been improving, which should result in
eliminating the necessity for unpaid Furlough days; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to end the practice of requiring unpaid
furlough days for City employees as soon as possible, but no later than the middle of the current
fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida, hereby directs
the City Manager to end the practice of unpaid furlough days as soon as practical, but no later
than the middle of the current fiscal year, provided that fiscal conditions permit the Manager to
do so.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
