HomeMy Public PortalAbout13-8728 Repair Cost of Employee Owned Vehicles Sponsored by: Commissioner Holmes RESOLUTION NO. 13-8728 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR COSTS OF EMPLOYEE-OWNED VEHICLES WHICH WERE DAMAGED DURING THE INCIDENT WHICH OCCURRED ON DECEMBER 2, 2013 NEAR CITY HALL, AND TO PAY FOR OVERTIME FOR ANY CITY EMPLOYEES ENTITLED TO RECEIVE OVERTIME, AS A RESULT OF THOSE EMPLOYEES BEING FORCED TO REMAIN AT WORK BEYOND NORMAL WORK HOURS, AS A RESULT OF THE AFORMENTIONED INCIDENT; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, an incident occurred on December 2, 2013, near Opa-locka City Hall, as a result of which vehicles of Opa-locka employees were damaged, and employees were forced to remain beyond regular work hours. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, hereby directs and authorizes the City Manager to pay for the repair costs of employee-owned vehicles which were damaged during the incident that occurred on December 2, 2013, and to pay for overtime for any City employees entitled to receive overtime, as a result of those employees being forced to remain at work beyond normal work hours, as a result of the incident. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
