CI°T~' O)E' LYNVVOOD REQUES`TING °THE COUNCIL
ON INTERGOVERNMEN'PAL RELATIONS TO GRANT
A fidME EXTENSgON FOR 'THE ADOPTION OF
CERTAIN GENERA L PLP.N ELEMENTSo
WHEREASa ~he StatE of Califox°nia ~°equires that certain General Plan
elements including Seismic Safety9 Noise, Sceraic Highway and Safety be adopted
and made a part of the Cit,y o~' Lynwood G~neral Plara by September 20D 1974n
and
WHEREAS, the Council orn I~atergovernmental Relations is respo~asible
for adoptimg guidelines for the adoption of general plans and has established
September 20n 1974 as the deadl~~ie for ado~~ion, arad
WHEREASs the C. I. R. maya as provided in Sectior~ 65302, 2 of the
Government Code9 extea~d th~ date for the adoption of sadd elements, arnd
WHEREAS, the Cit,~ Council of the City of Lynwood has authorized
the expenditure of' furnds ~rnd i~ pz°oceeding with the preparation of a new
City General Plaa~9 and
WHEREAS9 the reevaluatiora o~° existing elements and preparation of
new elements must be accomplis~ned ea~currentlyD and
WHEREAS, in order to a~hieve a comprehensive General Plan and
integrate all principle elements9 a thorough systematic evaluation is required.
NOW~ THEREFOREa BE I°T RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the Ci~y of Lynwood requests that the CobeR. grant a#ime extension of one year
to accomplish the preparatio~is publ~c hearing process ax~d adoption of the
Cityas comprehea~siv~ G~neral Plarn, arYd
BE b'~ ~'URTHER RESOLVED9 that said City Council approves this
request ~or tlme ex~ensioxa at~d darects the City of Lynwood Departmerat of
Planning to m~.ke applicatlorn to secure a time extea~sion for a perlod of one
year beyo~d the Sep~ern~er 209 1974 deadline,
PASSED~ APPROVED, aa~d ADOP°TED this 7th day of May9 1974a
