RESOLUTION NO~ 74-42
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DECLARII~IG CERTAIN BUILDING OR BUILDINGS TO BE A NUISANCE
AND DIRECTING THE OWNER TO ABATE ITo
WHEREASA the City af Lynwood Department of Building
and Zoning has begun pr~ceedings for the correction of
substandard conditions in the building or buildings located
at 3215 E1 Segundo Bouleva.rd9 Lynwood, Californiao
WHEREAS; said Department has prev~ously given notice
of these conditi~ns to the property owner and gave him a
period of at least ~hirty (30) days within which to correct
the cond~tions;
WHEREAS~ during ~he period of time within thirty (30a
days after the giving of the above mentioned notice, the
property owner failed to take any action and, thereafter,
another notice was given him directing him to appear
before this Council and to show cause why said building or
buildings should not be condemned as a nuisance and the
nuisance abated as provided by the State Housing Act, and
the rules and regulat~.ons promulgated thereunder; and
WHEREASs this Council has held a hearing and has heard
all interested persons desiring to be heard and has taken
t~stimony from the representa~ives of the Department of Building
and Zoning concerning the condition of the building or buildings,
the estimated cost of its reconstruction, repair, or removal,
and other matters which the Council deemed pertinent to this
mat~er;
NOW, THEREFOREs the City Council of the City of Lynwood
hereby findsA determines6 arders6 and resolves as follows:
1~ The building or buildingsa located at 3215 E1 Segundo
Boulevard, LynwoodA CaliforniaA are found and declared to be a
public nu~sance~

2~, The property owner, Lynwood Lodge~ is directed
to abate said nuisance~ within thirty (30) days after the date
this Resolution is posted upon the premises6 by having the
building p~operly reconstructed or repaired or by having it
razed or removedw as previously directed by the Department of
Building and Zoning~
3~ If the pzoperty owner fails to take the steps
as provided izi this Resaluti~np the City wi11 raze or remove
the building and make the expense incurred thereby a lien
on the parcel of land upon which the building is located.
4, The Department of Building and Zoning is directed
to post a copy of this Resolution conspicuously on the
building or buildings so declared to be a nuisance and to
mail another copy of this R~solution by registered mai19
postage prepaid, a return receipt requesteda to the person owning
the land on which said building or buildings are located as
such per~on~s name and address appear on the last equalized
assessmerit ro11~ or as known to the City Clerk. The Department
of Building and Zoninq is al~o directed to so mail a copy of this
Resolution to each mortgagee or beneficiary under any mortgage
or deed of trust of record at the last known address of such mort-
agee or beneficiary, If any such addresses are unknown to said
Department and ~o the City Clerkp then said fact shall be stated
in said copy so mailed` and i~t shall be addressed to the party
in question at t:he County seat of the county wherein said prom
perty is situated„ The person or persons who so post and
mail said copies shall file an affidavit thereof with the
City Clerk~
5o This Council has jurisdiction to raze or remove
said building or buildings thirty (30) days after posting
and mailing of this Re~olution as aforesaidq and the Department
of Building and Zoning is directed to take pxoceedings to raze
