RESOLUTION No. 7~-39
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD IN SUPPORT OF PROPOSITION "P"
ON THE JUNE 4, 1974, BALLOT.
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council met in joint session
with the Lynwood Unified School District Board of Education on
March 28, 1974, to discuss matters of mutual interest, and
WHEREAS, among the subjects discussed were the School
District's needs relating to additional classroom facilities
and upgrading of existing structures, and the maximum tax rate
election proposition which will appear on the June 4, 1974, ballot
which, if successful, will provide the funds necessary to carry
out the program of constructing, remodeling and equipping
school facilities, and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Unified School District Board of
Education has established priorities for the use of the revenue
to be derived to insure that the most urgent needs will be
met and the entire program will be carried out in an orderly
manner, and
WHEREAS, it is recognized that the strength of the
nation lies in its public schools by educating youth to become
responsible citizens and to gain the knowledge and skills needed
for development of their highest potential, and
WHEREAS, it is the concern of the entire community to
provide the education system with the needed facilities to carry
out its obligation to the youth of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood that it support Proposition "P" on the June

4, 1974, ballot, and urge similar support by voters of the
community.
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 197~4.
