RESOLUTION NO. 74-4~4
A R~SOIsU1`ION OF` '~HE ~ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
OPPOSING 'I`HE~~ PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL 3301
WH~R~~SD t~iR City oi Iaynwood is vitally concerned over the activities
and operations of tF~e Real Estate industry within this community, and
WHEREAS, t~e City has appointed a Real Estate Practices Commission
with such duties ~sstgnecl as wox°king with the real estate industry to establish
regulations ~eTative to ?!~e concYuct of real e~tate sales in the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, t1~~e City ~ras developed with the aid of the real estate industry
and the Real ~;~t~te Psactices Commission a comprehensive set of standards
relative to tfl~e adve*~ttsing of t~E sale of a°eal property, and
WHFR~ASL ~rr^oposed Assernbly Bill 33b1 (Bannai) constitutes a definite
infx~ingement and p~e~e~mption of local governments authority to regulate real
estate adve~°ti~ing ~ignsn and
WHER~~Sp it is the responsibility of local agencies to resolve common
differences and maintain a cooperative working relationship between said
agencies and local realtor°s~
NOW THER~~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY O~` I~YNWOODe tl~at ~he Council flaereby expresses its opposition to and urges
tP~e d~fe~t of Assem~ly B[ll 3301 as it relates to the size and piacement of real
~state adve~°tising s~gnso
BE IT F'URTHER RESOLVEDa tFnat copies of this resolution be forwarded
io the C ity's reprES~nta~ives in th~ State Assembly and Senate, as well as to the
League of Cali~ornia C~ties and members of the Senate Business and Professions
