AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY, URBAN FORESTRY
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, Urban
Forestry Program has grant funding available for various Arbor Day activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Parks and Recreation Department desires to submit a grant application in order to sponsor an Arbor Day tree planting contest involving area scout troops.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond Parks and Recreation Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, Urban
Forestry Program for the sponsorship of an Arbor Day tree planting contest.
2. The City of Richmond Parks and Recreation Department is hereby authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00).
3. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated for the aforementioned Arbor Day tree planting contest.
Passed and adopted this 20th day of January, 1998, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
